Manufacturing Inventory Manager

As the Warehouse Inventory Manager, you will lead a team responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy of all materials received, consumed, and shipped in a warehouse. The Warehouse Inventory Manager will be responsible for the material inventory team assigned to support various departments and will give directions to the team to provide material handling support for receiving, production, and shipping.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Set clear goals, delegate tasks, and ensure the inventory team is aligned with project objectives.
- Maintains records of materials in inventory and on order.
- Manage material handler activities for receiving and stocking inventory items.
- Respond to production demand and initiate action to replenish stocks by picking/staging material allocated to production work orders.
- Support shipping with material handlers to load outbound deliveries.
- Reconciles inventory discrepancies and notifies material handlers and Production Supervisor of irregularities.
- Review and reconcile adverse inventory reports daily.
- Review and reconcile open transfer order reports daily.
- Review and reconcile open transfer request reports daily.
- Reconcile inventory discrepancies when they are reported.
- Provide training to the material handlers on how to use all WM transaction codes in SAP.
- Review material handler performance and provide counseling and additional training as necessary.
- Manage Inventory Cycle Count Program.
- Perform cycle counts when requested by the Materials Manager
- Manage storage bins (open/blocked) to maximize warehouse rack space.
- Define storage bins as required by production needs as the model changes from year to year.
- Work with the Materials Manager to coordinate the disposition of aging material.
- Responsible for tracking inventory of various materials, finding the root causes for inventory discrepancies, and accurately recording inventory counts in the system.
Minimum Requirements:
- Proven work experience as an inventory support team member or similar role.
- Experience with SAP or other ERP systems required.
- Excellent math and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work extended hours.
- Forklift experience is beneficial.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Physical Demands:
The work requires physical exertion such as extended periods indoors and outdoors of remaining stationery, traversing spaces, repositioning to reach and use tools, and moving at least 50 lbs. assisted or unassisted.
