Technician Certification Instructor

The Technician Certification Instructor is responsible for delivering technical training and certification programs for technicians through classroom, virtual, and hands-on instruction. This role supports technician development by providing education, mentorship, and curriculum aligned with company standards and evolving industry practices.


SPECIFIC DESIRED EXPERIENCE


  • 5 years of general automotive experience preferred.
  • Acute attention to detail.
  • Excellent oral communication skills in English and technical writing.
  • Professional appearance, demeanor and have a positive attitude.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office
  • Desired experience to document control.
  • Use of OEM tools, software, and service information systems
  • Experienced in Diagnostics and troubleshooting techniques
  • Experienced in delivering structured, engaging classroom instruction to effectively communicate technical concepts.
  • U-Haul Master Technician is a plus!




 SPECIFY DUTIES AND COMMENTS


  • Deliver structured on-site workshops to technicians seeking certification (classroom, virtual, and hands-on environments).
  • Develop, update, and maintain instructional materials, curriculum, and testing content aligned with certification standards. 
  • Provide coaching, mentorship, and remediation plans for technicians needing additional support.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and organizational policies.
  • Track and document student progress, certification outcomes, and education effectiveness.
  • Stay current with evolving technologies, tools, and best practices relevant to technician roles.

  • Collaborate with management, subject matter experts, and operations teams to align education with business needs.
  • Support continuous improvement by analyzing education feedback, pass/fail rates, and performance data.
  • Monitor new courses available that can be added into the program.
  • Assist with organizing the Detroit Summit and Phoenix Summit’s along with the Technician Certification Rodeo.
