Storage Customer Service Representative
Do you enjoy working with people and being part of a fast-paced, hands-on team? U-Haul is looking for friendly, dependable, and motivated individuals to join our team as a Storage Customer Service Representative.
In this role, you’ll be one of the faces of our U-Haul location, helping customers with truck and trailer rentals, self-storage, moving supplies, propane, and other products and services. You’ll assist customers throughout their visit, answer questions, complete rental transactions, dispatch and return equipment, and help keep the showroom and property clean, organized, and ready for business.
This isn’t a job where you’ll spend your entire shift behind a desk. You’ll work both inside the showroom and around the property, helping customers, inspecting equipment, maintaining rental equipment and storage areas, stocking merchandise, and pitching in wherever the team needs you.
No previous experience is necessary. We provide on-the-job training and education to give you the tools and knowledge you need to succeed. If you enjoy staying busy, working with customers, and being part of a team where every day is a little different, we’d love to hear from you.
Get started quickly — and get paid from the start! Applicants will complete up to two paid, hands-on trial shifts, giving you the opportunity to experience the job firsthand and see what it’s like to be part of our team. Each trial shift is paid in cash upon completion.
New team members can also earn a $100 CASH hiring bonus, plus an additional $300 CASH bonus upon completion of the U-Haul Equipment & Verification Training Program. Bonuses are paid in cash once all applicable requirements have been met.

Customer Service Representative Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide friendly, hands-on customer service throughout the entire U-Haul location.
- Assist customers with truck and trailer rentals, self-storage, moving supplies, propane and other U-Haul products and services.
- Dispatch and return rental equipment using U-Haul technology and mobile devices.
- Inspect, clean and prepare trucks, trailers and other rental equipment for customers.
- Assist self-storage customers with unit rentals, payments, questions and showing available storage units.
- Help maintain a clean, organized and welcoming showroom, storage facility and property.
- Stock and organize boxes, moving supplies and other retail merchandise.
- Perform routine property upkeep, cleaning and minor maintenance as needed.
- Answer phone calls and assist current and prospective customers with questions and reservations.
- Work as part of the store team and assist with other day-to-day operations as needed.
- Participate in ongoing training and development through U-Haul University.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Valid driver’s license and the ability to maintain a clean driving record.
- Friendly, dependable and comfortable working directly with customers.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Willingness to work both indoors and outdoors in a hands-on retail environment.
- Ability to work as part of a team and stay productive in a fast-paced environment.
- Availability to work weekends and holidays as needed.
Work Environment:
This is an active, hands-on retail position with work performed throughout the showroom, storage facility and outdoor property. Team members regularly move between indoor and outdoor areas while assisting customers, inspecting and preparing rental equipment, maintaining the property and completing daily store operations. Work outdoors is performed in varying weather conditions and around trucks, trailers and other rental equipment. Appropriate safety procedures and protective equipment are used when required.
Physical Demands:
This position requires regular physical activity throughout the workday, including standing and walking for extended periods, bending, reaching, kneeling, crouching and working at varying heights. Team members must be able to frequently enter and exit trucks and other rental equipment, climb steps, and occasionally use ladders while performing job duties. The position also requires handling equipment and supplies and the ability to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move up to 50 lbs., with or without assistance.
Pay Range is: $11 - $13 Hourly
