Robotic Welding Technician

In this role you will program, troubleshoot, and prepare the manufacturing plant’s fleet of welding robots, helping to achieve maximum throughput and production line efficiency. Welding Robot Programmer Primary Responsibilities:

  • Program, troubleshoot, debug, and prepare up to 11 welding robots for production
  • Teach and train robot operators
  • Maintain, service, and repair equipment
  • Adjust robot path and function to improve throughput and cycle time
  • Provide technical support in developing and improving process
  • Ensure all jobsite safety procedures and standards are followed
  • Observe and listen to machine operation to detect malfunctions during the welding process
  • Understand, support, and implement company Housekeeping, Safety, and Quality policies and procedures into daily work habits

Hours (subject to change according to needs of ongoing projects):

  • 2nd Shift 2PM-10PM, Monday-Friday
  • 3rd Shift 10PM-6AM, Sunday-Thursday

Welding Robot Programmer Minimum Qualifications:

  • Demonstrates high level of mechanical aptitude (non-traditional backgrounds welcome)
  • Able to communicate in English
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Able to travel for machine-specific training with robotic company
  • Knowledge and experience using the GMAW processes
  • Able to pass print reading, measurement and fraction/decimal conversion tests
  • Able to responsibly handle confidential information

Work Environment:
The work involves moderate risks or discomforts which require special safety precautions, e.g. working around moving parts, machines, fumes, or irritant chemicals. May be required to use protective clothing, or gear such as masks, goggles, gloves, or shields.

Physical Demands:
The work requires some physical exertion such as long periods both indoors and outdoors of remaining stationary, traversing spaces, repositioning to reach and use tools, and moving a minimum of 50 lbs assisted or unassisted.
